Cios Solo C-arm project is part of Siemens Healthineers’ ongoing development of their VBL (Visual Brand Language) strategy. Building on prior work with their ultrasound device, this project focused on refining and exploring the design of the C-arm, a large and complex piece of medical equipment. The main challenge was the high cost of producing prototypes for each design variation, making it difficult to review and iterate quickly.

To overcome this, the team incorporated KeyVR technology, allowing them to review the design at one-to-one scale in a virtual reality environment. This enabled the team to simulate user experiences and scenarios, helping to refine the appearance and functionality of the device without the need for physical prototypes. The use of VR provided valuable insights into design decisions, streamlining the process of exploring user interactions and improving the overall user experience for medical professionals.
